The four wheel drive today started a little east of Apache Junction, Â AZ on the Apache Trail. Â Both trails required permits and the combination to locked gates. We travelled first down Willow Springs Canyon which was the more picturesque of the two canyons. Â There were good stands of Saguaro Cactus and rock formations. Â The best part of the morning is that we had spectacular cloud formations which led to great photo opportunities. Â We had to backtrack in Willow Springs Canyon after we hit a dead end. Â Bulldog Canyon trail was pretty much unremarkable desert terrain and by then there were no clouds. Â We ended up on the road to Saguaro Lake where we had an early dinner at the marina restaurant. Â Finally we waited about an hour for the sunset over the lake.

Hi Charles,
Those cloud formations looked like paintings. I have never seen anything like them. Talk about being at the right place at the right time. You sure captured their beauty. Thanks for sharing.
